The Story

| The Purple Tulip, launched in September 2005, was a way for its owner, Heather (Patterson) Moldenhauer, to express her love of presentation and all things personalized. After moving to Maryland, Heather soon realized that there were not the little shops of “pretty things” she loved visiting with her friends so much in North Carolina. So, after leaving her career in brand marketing and public relations to raise her son, Heather looked for ways to put her creativity to work. With the encouragement from her husband, The Purple Tulip was born to help others find the things that make us smile.

| The name, The Purple Tulip, is from Heather’s life-long association with the flower. For as far back as she can remember Heather has always been associated with purple tulips. From her wedding day flowers to gifts from friends and family throughout the years – purple tulips have always held a special place in her heart.
